Iced Sponge Cake - Square 10 inch

Our 10 inch white iced undecorated sponge cakes are available for you to design and decorate your own cake. Delivered as shown, this iced square sponge cake is covered in sugar-paste and measures 10 inches square

Royal icing beads hold it on a thick drum (board), but it's otherwise blank. Add your own finishing touches with figurines, flowers, wedding decorations, or airbrush with colour to create your own design. Our undecorated sponge cakes are ideal for wedding cakes, birthday parties, or any special occasion or celebration.

Item Information

Our cakes are of the highest quality and taste as good as they look! The light sponge is superb with a moist, soft texture that melts in your mouth.

They are available in two flavours - classic sponge with raspberry jam & buttercream filling, or chocolate sponge with chocolate buttercream.

Choose from two sizes:

Medium (8 inch) measures 8 x 8 inches (20 x 20 cm) and serves 16 to 24 portions.
Large (10 inch) measures 10 x 10 inches (25 x 25 cm) and serves 24 to 36 portions.

Of course the number of portions depends on how you cut the cake! Our guide is based on a slice from 2 to 3 inches by one inch.

We use only the best quality ingredients including free range eggs. Because the sponge is completely enclosed in the icing they keep very well. We guarantee they will stay fresh for a minimum of 5 days, but usually they last even longer.They are square in shape, covered in white sugarpaste icing and sit on a thick cake board with piped royal icing shells around the base. Our cakes are made and iced by hand. Whilst we try to make each one as square and as flat as possible, there may be slight variations.

If you are sending this as a gift you can include a personalised gift card after you add it to the basket. You will be asked for the delivery address when you check out.

Delivery

Orders received by 1 pm Monday to Thursday can be delivered the next working day.

Order by 11am on Friday for delivery on Saturday.

Delivery costs depend on the item, quantity and service. When you add this item to the basket you can see all the options and charges and choose your delivery date.

You can enter a different delivery address if you are sending an item as a gift, or if you would like it delivered to your workplace.

If nobody is available to accept delivery then the driver might try a neighbour. Otherwise, a card will be left with details of how to arrange redelivery or collection.

You can ask for your order to be left with a neighbour, or tell us about a safe place it can be left.

For delivery to the following locations we can only take orders over the phone. Please contact us for details as surcharges may apply:

SPONGE CAKES

Store in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight. Do not freeze. Do not refrigerate.

Classic Sponge Cake:

A Golden Sponge Cake filled with Vanilla Buttercream and Raspberry Jam, covered in a layer of Sugar Paste and finished with Hand Piped Royal Icing

Ingredients: Sugar, water, fortified wheat flour (wheat flour, calcium carbonate, iron, niacin, thiamin), rapeseed oil, maize and wheat glucose syrup, dried free range egg, butter (milk), wheat glucose-fructose syrup, humectant: vegetable glycerine; raspberry purée, apricots, emulsifiers: lactic acid esters of mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids, mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids, polyglycerol esters of fatty acids, sodium stearoyl-2-lactylate; palm oil, raising agents: diphosphates, potassium carbonate, sodium carbonates; stabiliser: tragacanth; salt, milk whey powder, maize dextrose, rice starch, preservative: potassium sorbate; flavourings, gelling agent: pectin; acidity regulators: citric acid, sodium citrates; colour: anthocyanins; dried free range egg albumen.

A Chocolate Sponge Cake filled with Chocolate Buttercream, covered in a layer of Sugar Paste and finished with Hand Piped Royal Icing

Iced Sponge Cake - Square 10 inch I ordered an undecorated 8" and 10" iced sponge cake from CakeToppers in order to create my wedding cake.
I had a few emails and even a call from Peter Turner who was super helpful with my requests to have a thinner, smaller drum board for the 8", and to exclude the icing beads, and he even did the delivery himself to make sure it arrived safely.
We were then able to add the 8" on top of the 10" (using cake dowels for support) and then decorate it.
All our guests loved the cake and said it was really light and tasty.
Excellent service and would definitely use again.
